The Indonesian women’s volleyball team arrived at SEA Games 2025 with their best possible squad. Yet, social media users are puzzled by the absence of the young star Junaida Santi, who shone brightly at the U21 World Championship in August.
This is considered the strongest squad the Indonesian team could field. They blend experienced veterans with emerging young players. Among the outside hitters, captain Mediol Yoku remains the leader, alongside Ersandrina Devega S, Pascalina Mahuze, and Naisya Pratama P. These players are seen as Indonesia’s main attacking pillars, known for their consistent scoring and impressive jumping ability.
At the opposite hitter position, the duo Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi and Syelomitha Wongkar are trusted to lead the offense, playing a crucial role in coordinating smoothly with the outside hitters and setters to execute tactical attacks. The middle blockers Geofany Eka C., Chelsa Nurtomo, Namira Maradanti, and Rika Dwi Ratri handle blocking duties, strengthening the frontline against strong regional opponents.
