This modification is expected to enhance the appeal of Vietnam's premier volleyball tournament in the coming year.
The 2026 National Volleyball Championship is anticipated to undergo a notable adjustment compared to previous seasons, aiming to increase the tournament's attractiveness.
Accordingly, each club will play 14 matches in the group stage, split into two phases of 7 matches each. This is double the number of matches compared to the 2025 season (where each team played 7 matches: 5 in phase 1, 2 in phase 2).
Other factors such as the number of foreign players registered and the maximum number of foreign players allowed on the court, the competition format, etc., will remain unchanged.
This change is expected to be a major boost for professional volleyball in Vietnam, providing more playing opportunities for athletes and preventing situations where many teams have already settled and do not compete seriously in remaining matches.
The 16 teams participating in the 2026 National Volleyball Championship include:
Phase 1 of the tournament will be held at Dong Anh Sports Hall, Hanoi, while phase 2 will take place at two different locations: Ho Chi Minh City (men's competition) and Vinh Long (women's competition)
