Two new clubs debut in the 2026 National A-Class Volleyball Championship

The National A-Class Volleyball Championship this year is expected to be highly thrilling.

Regulations 2026 National A-Class Volleyball Championship have been officially issued, marking the start of team preparations ahead of this season. With many notable updates, the tournament is anticipated to deliver fierce competition in the race for promotion to the top-tier league.

Under the new rules, teams participating in the 2026 A-Class are allowed to transfer players according to current regulations. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation continues to permit each team to transfer up to 2 athletes for the 2026 National Championship. Notably, the regulations also specify that A-Class teams may hire 2 foreign players but only one can play on court at a time, provided they do not overlap with foreign players already competing in the 2026 National Championship.

It is likely that teams will delay hiring foreign players until the final round, as the decisive stage will be held in Thai Nguyen from December 17 to 27.

Currently, many teams have begun racing to complete their squads to meet the preliminary registration deadline set for early April 2026. The group stage of the 2026 National A-Class Volleyball Championship will take place from May 16 to May 30 in Dien Bien.

This season promises to be very exciting with the addition of new faces. In the men's category, Dong Nai is participating for the first time, adding a new highlight to the competition. Some other regions also plan to send youth teams to gain experience and improve athlete quality. In the women's category, barring last-minute changes, Lam Dong will make its debut in the A-Class competition.

Additionally, many familiar teams such as the Mobile Police Command, Vinh Long, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, etc., will maintain their participation plans as in the previous season.

In the 2025 season, the finals featured intense battles for the title between Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Tinh (men) and Quang Ninh and Hanoi (women). Ultimately, Ho Chi Minh City’s men and Hanoi’s women won the championship, earning promotion to the 2026 National Championship. This year, the tournament will again grant two promotion spots for the 2027 season to the male and female champions.
