OFFICIAL: Volleyball beauty Kim Thanh leaves VTV Bình Điền Long An

Đặng Thị Kim Thanh was a key factor in VTV Bình Điền Long An’s victory in the 2025 national championship.

National team player Đặng Thị Kim Thanh has officially parted ways with the VTV Bình Điền Long An women's volleyball team to join the Ho Chi Minh City women's team, marking a significant career milestone ahead of the 2026 season.

In an interview with SGGP, the head coach of the Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball team, Mrs. Trần Hiền, confirmed that both parties have completed the necessary procedures. Kim Thanh’s contract with VTV Bình Điền Long An had expired, and the club quickly approached and secured the signature of this versatile player.

The contract between the team and Kim Thanh lasts for three years. Initially, Kim Thanh will still be loaned to VTV Bình Điền Long An to strengthen their squad for the 2026 National Championship. Therefore, the Vietnamese volleyball beauty will compete in both the National Championship and the A-level national tournament this year.

Đặng Thị Kim Thanh is no stranger to the Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball team. In 2024, she wore their jersey at the national A-level tournament, helping the club claim the championship and secure the sole promotion spot.

In the second phase of the 2025 national championship, Kim Thanh delivered an extremely impressive performance as an outside hitter, helping VTV Bình Điền Long An successfully defend their title and earn a guaranteed spot on the national team for SEA Games 33 in Thailand.

The acquisition of Kim Thanh is part of Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball team’s plan to rebuild after being relegated to the A-level due to unsatisfactory results in the 2025 national championship. The team aims to secure promotion and return to the top tier by 2027.

Besides Kim Thanh, the Ho Chi Minh City women's team has also signed several new players such as Dương Thị Yến Nhi, Nguyễn Thị Hoài Mi and Phan Khánh Vy – another former star of VTV Bình Điền Long An.
