The current national women's volleyball champions are encountering significant difficulties as they approach the 2026 season.
One of the crucial members of VTV Bình Điền Long An - Phan Khánh Vy has officially left the team to join the Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball squad for the upcoming 2026 season.
It is known that Khánh Vy’s contract with her former club VTV Bình Điền Long An expired, and Ho Chi Minh City quickly moved to recruit this highly promising player. Khánh Vy is among the new additions to the team named after Bác, alongside Đặng Thị Kim Thanh - a close teammate at VTV BĐLA, Nguyễn Thị Hoài Mi - a strong partner of Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền at LPB Ninh Bình, Dương Thị Yến Nhi, and others.
Khánh Vy and Kim Thanh will compete together for Ho Chi Minh City in the 2026 national A-class tournament, yet their original club has allowed them to be loaned back to VTV Bình Điền Long An to help the defending champions stabilize their lineup for the 2026 season. However, if Ho Chi Minh City earns promotion, fans will no longer see this duo wearing the familiar yellow jersey.
Additionally, Khánh Vy will be an important reinforcement for Ho Chi Minh City's women's volleyball team at the 10th National Sports Festival held at home later this year - a highly significant event.
Phan Khánh Vy, 23 years old, is a young outside hitter with excellent skills at VTV Bình Điền Long An. Developed through the club’s youth academy in the Mekong Delta region, Khánh Vy has helped the team win three national championships in 2017, 2018, and 2024; four Hung Vuong Cup gold medals; and two Hoa Lư - Bình Điền Cup titles (according to Volleybox).
Khánh Vy’s most notable impact was during the 2024 season. With the absence of main attacker Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, who was playing abroad in Turkey at the time, the 1.76m tall talent, combined with the experience of legendary player Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa — now the head coach — led VTV Bình Điền Long An to the national championship despite not being the top-ranked club.
In February 2025, Phan Khánh Vy married Nguyễn Văn Thái - a middle blocker who played for Lavie Long An (now Lavie Tây Ninh) in the 2024 season, and they started a family together. This is why the talented player was absent from all last season’s tournaments: the two stages of the national championship, Hung Vuong Cup, Hoa Lư - Bình Điền Cup, and the AVC Champions League.
Besides Khánh Vy and Kim Thanh, VTV Bình Điền Long An also lost national team libero Nguyễn Khánh Đang (who moved to Hà Nội Tasco Auto) and setter Lê Thị Ngọc Trâm (who joined VietinBank).
