The outside hitter from Nghệ An is currently competing for Indonesia’s Medan Falcons on a short-term deal.
Vi Thị Như Quỳnh is one of the most prominent figures in Vietnamese women's volleyball, and whether she will play in the 2026 National Volleyball Championship is a major concern for fans.
Như Quỳnh is currently playing for Medan Falcons in the Indonesian National Volleyball Championship under a contract lasting until the end of the season. Therefore, many doubt that the national volleyball player can participate in the first phase of the championship starting in April in Đông Anh, Hanoi.
However, according to coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt’s conversation with SGGP, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh will definitely compete with Hà Nội Tasco Auto in the initial rounds of the season. She is expected to return to Vietnam by the end of February to join the capital’s team and prepare professionally for this important tournament.
Although a newcomer team, Hà Nội Tasco Auto has shown strong ambition to break into the top ranks this season, and even challenge for the championship currently held by VTV Bình Điền Long An. With solid backing from sponsors, the capital team has brought in national players such as Như Quỳnh, Lê Thanh Thúy, Nguyễn Khánh Đang, and experienced coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt, combined with local talents like Bùi Thị Ánh Thảo, Vi Thị Yến Nhi, Lê Thùy Linh, etc., forming a very watchable squad.
Vi Thị Như Quỳnh joined Hà Nội as a free transfer after her contract with Quảng Ninh expired. She is currently on her first overseas stint in Indonesia, although she and her teammates have yet to achieve favorable results - Medan Falcons remain the only club without a win in this season’s Indonesian National Volleyball Championship.
