Nguyễn Văn Quốc Duy and his teammates achieved a decisive victory in their opening match of the Cambodian National Championship.

This is the inaugural international journey in the career of the "Vietnamese Nishida".

The reigning champion of the Cambodian National Championship, Cảnh Sát Svay Rieng, made a stunning debut by securing a convincing 3-0 win over StungTreng. With set scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-15, the Svay Rieng representatives quickly established themselves as top contenders for the title right from the opening match.

At the start of the match, Cảnh Sát Svay Rieng quickly took control of the game with a solid, fast, and aggressive playing style. From the very first points, the blue-shirted players put significant pressure on StungTreng’s defense, forcing their opponents into a defensive stance. The difference in skill level was evident early on, especially in their ability to organize plays and execute effective attacks at the net.

One of the notable highlights of the match was the appearance of Nguyễn Văn Quốc Duy in the starting lineup. The Vietnamese foreign player quickly adapted and made a strong impression with his powerful signature attacks. His excellent jumping ability, smart positioning, and decisive spikes made Quốc Duy a key offensive weapon, helping his team steadily widen the point gap.

On the side of StungTreng, despite their efforts and tactical adjustments, they could not balance the game under intense pressure from their opponents. Mistakes in the first touch and difficulties defending against fast attacks led to their swift defeat after three quick sets.

This is Nguyễn Văn Quốc Duy’s first overseas playing experience. The opposite hitter from Trà Vinh (former) will only play briefly in Cambodia before returning to Vietnam to join Công an TPHCM for the first phase of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship held in Đông Anh, Hanoi.
