VTV Bình Điền Long An is required to overcome Supreme Chonburi (Thailand) to qualify for the 2026 AVC Champions League, yet the squad led by coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa confronts several obstacles.
VTV Bình Điền Long An will not field any foreign players in the decisive match against Supreme Chonburi for a place in the 2026 AVC Champions League, scheduled in Thailand at the end of February. This information comes from the club’s management and their official fanpage. VTV Bình Điền Long An FC.
Traditionally, the Vietnamese national champion is granted direct entry into the continental tournament. However, the AVC has mandated that Southeast Asian representatives must compete in a qualifying round. Consequently, VTV Bình Điền Long An will face Supreme Chonburi on February 26 in Bangkok to battle for the official ticket to the finals held in April in South Korea.
This change forces coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa and her staff to revise their preparation plans. According to SGGP, the VTV Bình Điền Long An players are currently training at their base and will take a break for the Lunar New Year after February 14. The team is expected to regroup on the fourth day of Tet (February 20), leaving only about five days to prepare before departing for Thailand.
Many difficulties lie ahead for coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa’s team. Not only is there limited preparation time, but the squad also lacks its best lineup as no foreign players have been signed yet, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is absent due to playing in Japan, and libero Nguyễn Khánh Đang has left to join Hà Nội Tasco Auto.
Last season, VTV Bình Điền Long An finished as runners-up in the AVC Champions League after losing to Zhetysu Club (Kazakhstan) in the final. Their foreign player at Pasig, Philippines back then was Natalia Lijewska (Poland), but the biggest star of the reigning national champions remained the familiar face – Thanh Thúy.
