This is exactly why Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is beloved by a large number of Vietnamese volleyball fans.
The captain of the Vietnam women's volleyball team, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, won the hearts of fans by deciding to donate all her prize money from the 2025 Victory Cup along with support from her club VTV Bình Điền Long An to patients being treated at the Oncology Hospital.
Thanh Thúy’s noble act quickly spread widely on social media. Many expressed their affection and respect for the humanitarian gesture of "4T". Although competing in Japan, the 1997-born spiker still showed her care for her homeland through meaningful actions, demonstrating responsibility and compassion for the community.
Previously, Thanh Thúy was honored as the Most Beloved Athlete of 2025 at the Victory Cup — an award recognizing outstanding individuals in Vietnamese sports. This was her second time receiving this title after first winning it in 2023. Her triumph over strong contenders such as athlete Nguyễn Thị Oanh and striker Nguyễn Đình Bắc highlights her special appeal among volleyball fans in Vietnam.
In terms of professional performance, 2025 continued to showcase Trần Thị Thanh Thúy’s leadership role in the national team. She played a major part in helping Vietnam secure their third consecutive AVC Nations Cup title, winning the second stage of the SEA V-League after a historic victory over Thailand, and earning the silver medal at the SEA Games for the fourth consecutive time. At the club level, Thanh Thúy was the star player leading VTV Bình Điền Long An to become runners-up in the AVC Champions League, securing a spot at the Club World Cup (which she did not attend due to a schedule conflict with SEA Games 33).
Currently, "4T" is playing for Gunma Green Wings in the Japanese V.League for the 2025-2026 season, and since competing in the "Land of the Rising Sun," the outside hitter from Bình Dương has not taken a break during the Lunar New Year, continuing training with hopes to maintain her impressive form in this year’s SV.League.
