This is a young foreign player with prior experience competing in the National Championship.
VTV Binh Dien Long An is nearly certain to secure the signature of foreign player Lianet Garcia for Stage 1 of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship, to be held in Dong Anh, Hanoi this April.
Garcia, born in 2004, plays as an outside hitter. She stands 1.87m tall with a spike touch of 3.20m and a block touch of 3.05m (according to Volleybox data). She is a member of the Cuban national team, participating with them in events like the World Championship and the NORCECA Pan American Cup.
At the club level, the 21-year-old hitter previously played for teams in her native Cuba before moving abroad to China (Jiangxi) and most recently to Turkey (Merinos).
Between those two clubs, she had a stint playing in Vietnam for Ho Chi Minh City. and... precisely for VTV Binh Dien Long An. Garcia played for the team named after Uncle Ho in Stage 1 of the 2025 National Championship and was signed by VTV BDLA on a short-term contract for the Hung Vuong Cup that same year.
The Cuban hitter possesses a relatively impressive vertical leap and good adaptability, with a likable personality. However, she has not yet fully demonstrated the scoring ability to "carry" a team during her previous brief playing time in Vietnam.
As she is currently playing in Turkey, Lianet Garcia cannot come to Vietnam immediately. The ranking of her current club will determine whether the 2004-born outside hitter can join VTV Binh Dien Long An early. If all goes well, Garcia could fully participate with the reigning national champions in the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup held in Ninh Binh starting March 18th.
