The military-themed team places full trust in the foreign duo from the "Land of a Billion" during the early stage of the season.
The women's volleyball team Information - Northeast recently successfully recruited Chinese foreign player Sun Jie for Stage 1 of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship, to be held in Dong Anh, Hanoi in April.
Sun Jie, born in 1997, plays as an opposite hitter with a height of 1.86m, a spike reach of 3.05m, and a block reach of 2.97m. She developed from the Shandong training system and remains with that team to this day. Additionally, Sun briefly played abroad on loan to Supreme Chonburi (Thailand) and Maccabi Haifa (Israel).
At the international level, Sun Jie was a member of the Chinese U23 team that won the Asian Championship in 2019, and the 28-year-old hitter herself received the Best Opposite Hitter award. However, this opposite hitter has not yet had the opportunity to join the national team of the "Land of a Billion".
Thus, by successfully bringing in Sun Jie, Information - Northeast has officially finalized its foreign player roster for Stage 1 of this year's National Championship. The team fully trusts the hitters from China; previously, the club had completed the transfer deal with Che Wenhan — Sun Jie's teammate at Shandong.
The presence of the Chinese duo helps enhance the offensive "firepower" of Information - Northeast. The military-themed team possesses quality scoring players with main attackers Nguyen Thi Phuong, Pham Thi Nguyet Anh, Pham Quynh Huong, Nguyen Huynh Phuong Thuy, and opposite hitter Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh.
Information - Northeast aims for high goals this season. For the National Championship, coach Pham Van Long and his team are determined to finish in the top three overall. A good start in Stage 1 will be a solid foundation for the military-themed team to achieve a successful finish.
