The Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball team had a very favorable start to 2026 by winning the championship at the "Dak Lak in Season" volleyball tournament in 2026.

This title not only serves as a morale boost but also represents an important professional springboard before the team enters the campaign at the national A-grade tournament scheduled for next May.

The tournament's final match, held at the Dak Lak Provincial Gymnasium, was a showdown between the Ho Chi Minh City women's team and the youth team of VTV Binh Dien Long An. From the moment the opening whistle sounded, both teams entered the game with high determination, striving to deliver dynamic and exciting plays for the spectators. However, with a balanced lineup and superior experience, the Ho Chi Minh City team quickly controlled the match.

Under the guidance of Coach Tran Hien, the final match was considered a crucial test for the Ho Chi Minh City athletes, not only in terms of tactics but also in competitive spirit. His players demonstrated cohesive teamwork, particularly effective coordination between the offensive and defensive lines. Consequently, Ho Chi Minh City secured a convincing 3-0 victory over the youth team of VTV Binh Dien Long An with successive scores of 25-11, 25-19, and 25-13.

This victory allows the Ho Chi Minh City women's team to early claim its first title of 2026, establishing a positive psychological foundation for upcoming goals. After the tournament in Dak Lak, the entire team will continue to refine its skills, aiming for the group stage of the national A-grade tournament 2026 to be held in Dien Bien in May.

One of the notable figures in the Ho Chi Minh City lineup for this tournament was the national team's wing spiker, Dang Thi Kim Thanh. She played fully in all matches of the "Dak Lak in Season" 2026 tournament, contributing significantly to the team's overall achievement. After the tournament, Kim Thanh will return to join her club, VTV Binh Dien Long An, to prepare for participation in the Hoa Lu – Binh Dien Cup 2026 as well as the initial stage of the 2026 national club championship.

For the youth team of VTV Binh Dien Long An, although unable to win the championship, the tournament in Dak Lak still provided considerable professional value. According to Coach Nguyen Quoc Vu, this was an important opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate the competitive capabilities of the young athletes, thereby preparing better for upcoming national youth tournaments.
