Despite Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's outstanding performance, Gunma Green Wings failed to create a surprise as they lost 0-3 to Hisamitsu Springs in the first quarterfinal match of the SV League (20-25, 18-25, 18-25).
Entering the match against a higher-rated opponent, Gunma faced many difficulties in organizing their gameplay and defense. Despite great effort, Coach Sakamoto's team could not withstand the continuous pressure from Hisamitsu Springs and quickly succumbed after three sets.
The biggest highlight for Gunma continued to be Thanh Thuy. The Vietnamese main attacker scored up to 16 points, achieving an impressive efficiency rate of 56.5%, becoming the team's top scorer. However, her individual brilliance was insufficient as the other positions performed inconsistently, especially the first step and the defensive system revealed many limitations.

This loss puts Gunma in a difficult position in the quarterfinals and forces them to win the next match if they hope to advance. In that context, Thanh Thuy's form still provides a major pillar, but clearly she needs more support from her teammates.
Notably, after the match, many Vietnamese fans left comments on social media, expressing their wish for Thanh Thuy to soon return home to support VTV Binh Dien Long An. Many humorous opinions suggested that "if Gunma loses just one more match," Vietnam's top main attacker could timely return to "carry the team" in the domestic league.

Nevertheless, Thanh Thuy still has immediate duties with Gunma Green Wings in the next match. If she continues to maintain her impressive form as present, she can certainly make a difference, though the chance for the Japanese representative to reverse the situation is not easy.
