Ho Chi Minh City Police defeat Border Guard MB 3-0 to win the Hung Vuong Cup 2026

The Hung Vuong Cup men's volleyball final started in an unprecedented way in history, as Ho Chi Minh City Police performed brilliantly from the first step, attacking from the wings and blocking to lead Border Guard MB with an unbelievable score of 12-0.

The police volleyball team continued to play well afterward, leading Border Guard MB 16-6, 19-9, 20-10, and closing the set with a 25-16 victory.

Set 2 unfolded much more excitingly. The two teams contested the score from the very beginning, bringing the match into a closely balanced state with scores of 7-7, 8-8, 9-9.

After set 1, coach Tran Dinh Tien moved Ngoc Thuan from main attacker to opposite hitter to escape the first step and on the right wing; the number 1 hitter of Border Guard MB performed significantly more effectively.

However, after Border Guard MB reached their 9th point, they lost control of the match to their opponent. Ho Chi Minh City Police continuously surged ahead, leading 12-9, then 14-12, 17-15.

The border guard players made quite many service errors and lost many regrettable points. Those mistakes, combined with the very high performance of the key players on the Ho Chi Minh City Police side, caused the military men's volleyball team to suffer another defeat, 20-25 in set 2.

Set 3 began very evenly, but as the game progressed, the Ho Chi Minh City Police players increasingly dominated Border Guard MB. Both foreign players and opposite hitter Pham Quoc Du played explosively, helping the team of coach Nguyen Van Hanh continuously score points to win again 25-20, thereby achieving a 3-0 overall victory to crown themselves champions of the Hung Vuong Cup 2026.
